There are times in one’s life when you just need to stop and catch your breath. Times when you need to look at where you are and where you want to be. Evaluate what is happening in your life and set the ship on the right course.
I’ve been doing a lot of that lately in both places where I live. I’ve been trying to eliminate the things that muddy the waters or take away focus from what it is I really want for myself. It’s not an easy exercise. Asking yourself the hard questions about your life and where to go next. The hardest part is trying to build up the confidence to know whether what you choose is the right way. It’s even harder when you don’t have all the facts. The best anyone can do is make a good guess and hope it turns out well. Some people have a knack for making the right choices that pay off down the road, others don’t. Alas, I seem to fall into the latter group. I try and not be reactive, think through the important decisions carefully. Yet time after time what I thought had been a solid and thoughtful decision, turns out to take a turn for the worse. So here I am, at another crossroad in my life, again without all the facts needed to be sure I am making a good decision, and yet I must make a decision due to an impending time constraint. So get out the coin and flip it into the air and wait patiently to see which side faces upward, then go with the result. Jump off the pier. I think I need to find myself a Kevlar corset.

I think, though, remember “A ship in a harbor is safe, but that’s not what they are built for” Take it down to nuts and bolts EJ, if you jump out of that aero-plane without a parachute (1) what’s the BEST that could happen? (2) what’s the WORST that could happen and then figure out exactly how risk adverse you are willing to be with those two scenarios. In all ways, I wish you a surprising happy result that you had no idea would blossom.
